All is well. All "Againsters" are invited to converge at the Donald Fagen of Steely Dan concert
Thursday, March 30. His new album featuring the song "Great Pagoda of Fun" is a tribute to the Old Magic Mountain attraction - I think. ARNR can laugh it up all they want making fun of me and Chuck. They're going down. We've also linked up "real coaster site" to our side-bar link again.
ARNR is finished. It's over now, drink your big black cow, and get out of here.

Um.
Guy, I don't know if you read that article but, it's like he's saying "it's done" like "this is the end," the "apocalypse." He basically said this is his last album and it's the end. It's over.
So what? You don't know! People retire all the time and come back yet again and make new albums.
Viva La Golden Age!
Serum shooters anyone?
This rocks!
This has everything to do with the future of parks and coasters. Why, Music is at the heart of all Parks! and many varieties. Can you see a fifties/sixties themed area playing Anthrax, P Diddy or nothing at all?
Same for the 80's/90's It just wouldn't be the same without Duran Duran.
Philisophicly speaking They linked at the hip.
Rollercoasters are often a part of music and often Rollercoasters have Music themes. Batman The ride without the batman soundtrack?
Heck, I remember Beast opening year. Knock, Knock, Knock on wood, babe ya better Knock, Knock, Knock on wood.
There my friend Duncan. Think that over and get back with me.
As I posted on the arn&r site, Steely Dan is a has-been loser band enjoyed only by middle-aged, has-been losers. The concert being at a mall should be indication enough. I don't see how this is helping you "stick" arn&r.
Jerome
Steely Dan is one of the most respected bands in the industry.
I, too, don't know what they have to do, exactly, with rides and such.
Steely Dan!
Word!

The fact that the concert is at a mall should tell all that needs to be told.
I don't know what this is supposed to accomplish or how this is some kind of "stick" against arn&r.
Jerome
Jerome, perhapes after your mother wipes your nose, maybe, just maybe she will drive you over to the mall and Donald will teach you something about music. Make sure you eat your veggies at din-din.

Right on Tifany!

They funked it up! Funky would've loved it. Groovin.' They stuck it to ARNR, even mentioning them by name. "When Black Friday Comes, were gonna slam A R N R"
Only draw back was not hearing Black Cow which I read they played at other gigs.
A young homey wearing an Oakland Raider shirt was getting into it.
I think we reached him, and I think this proves there's hope for the 2nd Golden Age.

That rocks AA. Glad to here it was great!
The Second Golden Age is still going strong!

For some reason I have my doubts they really mentioned arn&r by name.
Are you calling AA a liar?
Who are you and state your buisness?

Duncan; while I am very familiar with Steely Dan -- Fagan and Becker.
I'm afraid AA's correlation between their music and Theme parks is something that may best be left for him to explain. With that said, I do happen to have a close friend who has casually mentioned this connection to me in the past.
I have been suffering a bit of a time crunch this past week. However if I am able to interview him about his view of this correlation, perhaps I can get something up in the next few days.
I will say, I am quit jealous! I was not able to attend last night’s concert.
Respectfully Yours.

who is stely dan. is he a metal singer lol?? has he doen any songs with j lo?
cuntundrum can you explain this to me ???
Brittany I think Donald Fagen is best described by Fred Kaplan Of Slate:
Fagen, who sings nearly all the Steely Dan songs. Can Fagen properly be called a singer? He strikes attitudes more than notes; his vocal cords strain when they exceed their half-octave range. Yet without his harsh knife-edge cri de coeur, the polished instrumental arrangements can slack perilously close to smooth-jazz fusion. When Fagen's at the mike, a tension brews between the voice and the musical mix. It's been 30 years since Steely Dan came out with the first of nine albums that infused pop music with new layers of knotty harmonies, insouciant irony, and a cryptic poetry that Dylan might have conjured had he pored over Burroughs instead of Guthrie.
I hope this answers at least one of your questions.

I had an opportunity to interview my acquaintance (MFD) this weekend. To be honest, it was quit a compelling tale he related to me. The correlation between Steely Dan, its principals Fagen and Becker, Theme Parks, SF, ARNR, and the Second Golden age is in fact quit amazing. His oratory ran for hours, in fact, when I left him at 3am this morning,
we were only about half way through the comparative analysis of their discography.
I will freely admit that many of the references were obscure to me. Although my source repeatedly stated that “The True Believers” would know precisely what these references mean. Fagen and Becker are considered oracles; so many of the references are foretelling of an events yet to come at the time of their publishing.
Do to the fact that a blog, may not be the proper media form to relate the entire story.
I shall concentrate only on their first four tracks of their first release 1972 "Can't Buy A Thrill". Below are MFD’s analyses.
“Can’t Buy A Thrill”--The coming of SFMM, also the letters ARN are present.
1)Do It Again—A reference to ERT, and multiple rerides. The chorus makes a direct reference.
CHORUS:
You go back Jack do it again
Wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back Jack do it again
MFD mentioned that the protagonist Jack contained the initials JCK!
2) Dirty Work—A tail of woe about Janitorial crews at Theme Parks. Another direct reference in the chorus.
CHORUS:
I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah
I don't wanna do your dirty work
No more
I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah
MFD also developed an eye twitch at this point, stating “See ARNR they had more than one garbage can"!
3)Only A Fool Would Say That—Stupid things said by (GP) general public in queue lines.
4) Reeling In The Years – Foretelling of the coming of the Second Golden Age.
In the first stanza Fagen sings.
Your everlasting summer
You can see it fading fast
So you grab a piece of something
That you think is gonna last
You wouldn't know a diamond
If you held it in your hand
The things you think are precious
I can't understand.
If you’ll notice, the letters SGA appear in all but three lines. However the name TORGO can be found among the three remaining lines. Classic struggle, GOOD verses EVIL.
There were quit literally hundreds of examples given by MFD. I leave it to others to judge their validity.
In an effort to be completely objective I have chosen to remain silent on this subject. Other than to state I do find this comparative correlation very compelling.

Torgo= Ultimate looser and geek!
Master of the Darkside.
Lord of the Sith
Kingon/Romulan mix
Destroyer of Parks and Ego's
Thats a Torgo.
Funky
Oh, I feel rather negligent; when you take the first stanza of "Reeling In The Years" as a whole you can spell the word "FREEMDOOM". MFD was emphatic about this and I feel rather derelict for inadvertently dropping it from the first draft. Please except my humblest of apologies. Although, I must admit, I’m not sure what it means.
Regrettably Yours

I think that more and more we're getting clues about the real identity of one "Conundrum." Our researchers have already noted:
1) Referencing "Freemdoom" proves he's been reading this site for a little while.
2) Using the name "Torgo" connects him with another place which will remain unmentioned.
We're committed to figuring out this cUnundrum

While you are free to waste as much of your time as you'd like.
I will give you one gentle reminder, which was stated several times in the above post. This was MFD's tail, not my own. I am only the scribe, not the soothsayer.

I hear Cedar Point is AWESOME Kip!
Coasters can be so awesome when you feel like you're flying. Sometimes it's so awesome, because you feel just like your flying. Especially at Cedar Point. Some of there rides make you feel like you're flying at Cedar Point.
I've gotta get there this summer Kip. Would you show me around?
Tifany
Are you mocking me or really agreeing with me? I can't tell.
Kip
I'm agreeing with you Kip!
I love the feeling of flight when riding coasters! You hurt my feelings though...It made me cry!
Tifany
